An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Fire Technician to join our team on a Full Time Basis, based in Henderson and also required to work at remote locations onshore and offshore.

This position will be reporting to the Workshop Manager. We are seeking for someone who will represent Wiltrading STACE in the best possible manner and accomplish the tasks allocated with thoroughness and accuracy. The role will consist of the duties outlined below.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and service all Fire Alarm Systems and Fire Fighting Equipment to AS1851-2012 and maintain the documentation.
  • Set up, install, network  and program of various types of Multi Aspirated Smoke Detection Sensors (e.g. VESDA systems).
  • Fault finding on various fire systems, networks and access control systems 
  • Responsible for the installation and programming fire panels from various manufacturers (e.g. AMPAC, Notifier).
  • Installation and servicing of gaseous suppression systems and equipment. 
  • Understand and implement current service requirements.
  • Maintain your proficiency in the standards to which we operate.
  • Conduct routine inspection and servicing of Portable Fire Equipment.
  • Installation of Portable Fire Equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of customer quotations & identifying remedial work.
  • Commit to workplace safety & good work practices.
  • Assist with the compilation and distribution of job packs and help ops support where necessary to understand their contents
  • Liaise direct to customers regarding service work.
  • Input into internal and external audits.
  • Test and conduct certification of valves and cylinders.
  • Conduct facility maintenance as required.

This role is essential to our business and as such we are looking for a candidate who meets the criteria listed below:


  • A current Open Cabling Registration
  • A valid Manual West Australian Drivers Licence .
  • A licence to perform High Risk Work - WP
  • Absolute commitment to OH&S 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Previous experience with High Pressure FFE systems such as CO2/ FM200.
  • Previous experience within Portable Testing, Sales and Service segment.
  • Excellent customer service experience
  • A successful track record in safety awareness.
  • A proven track record in the Fire industry.
  • Ability to travel when and if required.


  • A strong working knowledge of the Marine and Offshore Industry.
  • Current EAHL Licence c/w min.2,3,6 accreditation
  • Current Certificate II in Asset Maintenance(Fire Protection Systems) or equivalent preferable .
  • Fixed water and gas systems would be a bonus.
